Bro Godot

Here's another one of my favorite characters of all time!

This badass is just a fountain of cool catch-phrases, and, much like Franky, the big Cyclops visor is a great reminder that the series doesn't take itself too seriously. And it's even used to great effect in the plot!

I've tried to stay spoiler-free in these Bro Month descriptions, but I don't think I can avoid it with this guy, as most of the reasons why I like him are spoilers; there's even spoilers in the image, this time! So... sorry! Spoilers forthcoming.

I think Godot is fascinating. At first, a prosecutor who's never prosecuted before seems like a weak follow-up to the two prodigies from the first two games. But as the game goes on, I think Godot turned out to be the perfect final challenge for Phoenix; a prosecutor who used to be a defense attorney, and Mia's mentor, at that, represents Phoenix finally surpassing his own mentor. And that's really what the third game is about, our main character getting out of Mia's shadow and finally bringing her biggest cases to a close. And none of that could have been handled so well, the "trilogy" (at the time, anyway) couldn't have gone out on such a satisfying note without Godot. Much like with Franziska, last year, I almost like Godot more as a plot point than I do as a character! Almost.

He's such a complex character that, with this piece, I really wanted to capture both "sides" to him; the suave, cool-headed catchphrase dispenser, and the passionate protector. The ladykiller, and... well... the lady-killer, heh. Sorry again for the spoilers!
